"A Brutal Growth" This is a hypothetical exhibition; it is designed to redefine the definition of growth and life. Using plant and its growth as a metaphor, the exhibition seeks to embody the thriving development of Chinese traditional art in a digital environment. The exhibition is not only showing the technology of digital art but also heritage Chinese cultures into it and presents a new identity of life.

Growing to me is a sensual moment; it is a slow motion; it is powerful. Meanwhile, as time went on, there was a great leap forward in Chinese artistic and cultural expression. The idea was inspired by three Chinese artists, Chi Lushan, Vanilla Hachi, and Gao Yang. They demonstrate life and growth differently in plants and natures, with a narrative of Chinese traditional painting.

The biggest growth I experienced with this project was technical development, where I mastered third-party plugins to create realistic plant renders. Some tools I utilized are Octane Mix Render and Forester. To make my workflow more effective, I also used p5.js to generate digital visual patterns and Illustrator to create graphic elements. This process enhanced the better visioning bringing emphasis on the plants' texture.

(visual pattern)
The visual pattern was created in p5.js, and the idea was inspired by the Chinese traditional landscape ink painting. Trees, plants, and flowers give a sense of life to Chinese landscape paintings, and they also give the paintings endless beauty. The patterns are visualizing the aesthetic spirit in Chinese landscape painting, the harmony in nature.
